Born in Cap-Chat in the Gaspé Peninsula (Québec, Canada),
Renée Chevalier holds a Master of Arts degree in painting from the University du Québec à Montréal
(UQAM) under the direction of the late Pierre Ayot. She had several solos and group exhibitions.
A multidisciplinary artist, she is passionate about painting, photography and digital creation. Her talent has been recognized several times: in 2017, she won the 1st prize in the experimental print category at the 5th edition of the International Contemporary Mini Print in Kazanlak. In 2018, she participated in the 6th Edition of the Tokyo International MiniPrint Triennial organized by Tama Art University. In 2019, the Centre d'artistes Voix Visuelle awarded her the Desjardins Prize at the 14th International Edition of Miniature Digital Printmaking. She had a solo exhibit at the Maison de la Culture de Pointe-aux-Trembles in Montreal in 2018.
Her work is present in public, private and corporate collections around the world; including Russia, Spain, Portugal, Japan, Bulgaria, Ukraine, South Korea and Canada.
In 2021 and 2022, she participated with Michelle Boudreau, Canadian composer, in the online project "Galerie Les Tours". She has also participated in prestigious exhibitions such as Douro Biennial- Portugal , the International MiniPrint of Cantabria, Spain and the Marie Curie-Sklodowska University exhibition in Poland, as well as the annual editions of the International Contemporary Mini Print in Kazanlak, Bulgaria and the International Digital Miniature exhibition at the Centre des artistes Voix Visuelle, Ottawa Canada.
In 2024, Michelle Boudreau, Canadian composer, integrated the work "Temps diluviens " into the short film "Un prélude nordique". The artist then exhibited at the Miniprint Internacional 44 in Cadaqués, Spain, as well as the Internacional Exhibition Intercultural Dialogue: Contemporary Graphics at the Mission Gallery-State Cultural Institute, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria. Her works were also presented at the exhibition "Habitat" during the International Pinhole Fest 2024 at the Pavlovka Gallery in Ukraine. In July 2025, she will have a solo exhibition at the Maison de la culture de Ste-Anne-des-Monts-Québec.
